Conditions on Friendship?

To begin, I have no religious litmus test for the people who are my friends. I have never “unfriended” anyone because of a religious view of theirs. That having been said, it is certainly logically possible that I might one day do so. Suppose some friend of mine had some sort of personal transformation, such that he or she turned into a “religious radical” who advocated the extermination of anyone who did not share their favorite religious doctrines. Or suppose such a friend altered into an outspoken religious bigot. I hope that I would attempt to understand the basis of such a psychological transformation, but it seems likely that such a change of views would end up with that person being “unfriended”. Yet, such a potential interpersonal change would not be restricted to matters of religion. The same change could be caused by bigotry in most any realm.
