Naked Is Good

According to the book of Genesis (Chapter 3, v.7) the creation of clothing was a human invention by Adam and Eve, after they ate from the tree of knowledge. The implications of this story are that God created human beings and was content for them to spend their days in Eden naked. From this it follows that all religious rules about clothing and how one should be attired are human creations. And because most priests have been males, it follows that any religious rules that have been created for how women should dress have been male inventions. Historic religious rules about slavery show that such rules are not eternal and unchanging. Similarly, religious dress codes are not eternal and unchanging. From a libertarian perspective it seems therefore that people generally ought to be able to dress themselves however they please. And that should be the last word on the issue.
