Hell Yes

Divine punishment?   Theist believe that their omnipotent and omniscient God controls the genetic lottery when a human being is born. So, if a baby is born with a birth defect, is that a divine punishment? The answer varies from one religion to another. For those who believe in reincarnation, it isn’t God determining the genetic lottery, but rather one’s karma, (accumulated results of activities from one’s past lives). Modern religions that evolved from the Zoroastrians support belief in a final day of judgment where one’s immaterial soul is sent to heaven or hell. This clearly suggests divine punishment. According to common Christian doctrine, large numbers of humanity will spend eternity suffering the torments of hell. I know a Christian theologian who claims not to believe in hell, but this is not an orthodox position. In conclusion, it seems that most of the modern monotheists do believe in divine punishment.
